How to add K18 Treatment in to your Wig Washing Routine

When it comes to wig maintenance, the choice of products and treatments is paramount. Given that the hair used in wigs has been previously worn by its donor and undergoes extensive processing at the factory for color matching and other modifications, it's essential to employ the right products to maintain its quality. One standout product that has been making waves in the market for the past couple of years is the K18 Leave-In Molecular Repair Hair Mask. This innovative treatment mask has proven to be a game-changer in preserving the hair's integrity better than many other options currently available.

Below, I'll share my preferred routine to achieve the best results in maintaining your wig's beauty and health. This routine incorporates the K18 Hair Mask among other key steps designed to ensure your wig remains as vibrant and lifelike as when you first received it.

Wig Wash Instructions with K18 Mask Treatment

1. Begin by gently brushing out any tangles in your hair.

2. Use cool or lukewarm water to dampen your hair.

3. Lather shampoo in your hands and work it through your hair, adding more water if needed.

4. Squeeze the shampoo through the hair, ensuring it disperses and lathers well. Continue repeating the the squeezing motion.

5. Allow the shampoo to rest for a few minutes if extra cleansing is desired.

6. Rinse the shampoo out gently, rubbing hands downwards to prevent tangling. If not a good lather from the first shampoo the first time repeat the shampoo process for a good cleanse.

7. Blot the hair dry with a towel.

8. Apply a nickel-sized amount of K18, rubbing it throughout your hands before applying to the hair. Apply to hair and thoroughly work in to hair. Avoid getting the K18 on the lace or cap.

9. Let K18 sit for four minutes.

10. Choose to apply conditioner over K 18 or rinse K18 first and then apply conditioner.

11. Ensure conditioner doesn't touch the lace or material to prevent premature hair shedding.

12. Let conditioner set for a few minutes or 15 minutes for extra moisture, but not more than 30 minutes.

13. Rinse thoroughly with cool water.

14. Blot the hair dry with towel

Pin wig to head of wig mannequin if not already pinned to head during the shampooing process.

15. Apply 4 to 6 sprays of leave in conditioner, gently brush the hair, and set your part.

16. Let the hair air dry up to 80% or completely before styling.
